Meet Melanie Kain
Hello, my name is Melanie Kain and I own the Overland Park South division of Latchkey Pets. My love for animals began on our 40-acre farm just outside of Moscow, Idaho. I was blessed with cats, dogs, horses as well as many other species while growing up in the country. I graduated college in mid Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance and moved to Florida where my love for animals continued to grow. While living in Florida, I worked as a veterinarian technician for 10 years and learned so much about all kinds of species. After having children, the family bond was calling, so we moved back to Missouri to be near family. In 2014 I met Jeanna and began walking dogs for Latchkey Pets. As the company grew and expanded, I had no doubt I wanted to be a part of the Latchkey family and purchased the Overland Park South division in January of 2020. It has been a wild ride since, but the one constant that has remained the same throughout it all is my unwavering love for animals.
